BIOGRAPHY

Doug is a graduate of West Liberty State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music/Business. He excelled in many areas of music including, guitar performance, music theory, ear training, and composition. He was chosen 3 years in a row to perform at the school’s annual honors recital.


After college he founded the group Sleeping Giants. This wildly successful group performed in and around the region for almost a decade. Their Thursday night shows at Nick’s Fat City in the south side of Pittsburgh PA are legendary. Their CD “Knucklehead” sold 10,000 copies and their hit song “Holes in My Pockets” received airplay on hundreds of radio stations nationwide. The group’s crowning achievement was winning the Late Night with Conan O’Brien national band search, and performing live on the show.

Doug has since formed his own entertainment company DGEMusic. Music lessons, The Edgell Brothers acoustic show, Acoustic Edge guitar duo, 4 CD’s of original music, and now licensing music for film and TV placement. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Brigette.
